We sell a range of Guitars, suitable for beginners to advanced players
There’s a good reason the Guitar is such an iconic instrument. Since the birth of rock and roll in the 1950’s, its predecessor the blues, and virtually all popular music since, Guitars have been centre stage!
Our range of Acoustic Guitars offers features such as cutaway, built in pick up, EQ, and built in tuners.
Our range of Acoustic Guitars includes laminate top and solid top. Laminate tops are made of sheets of thin ply often with a veneer on top, like plywood. A solid top is made from one solid piece of wood without any glue, which gives it a cleaner resonating sound and shows the material's beautiful grain. Solid top Acoustic Guitars are higher quality, designed to produce warmer or brighter tones, and therefore more expensive than laminate top. Acoustic Guitars. Solid top instruments mature in tone with regular play and become more rich sonically.
The difference between a nylon string Guitar and a steel string Guitar:
These two types frequently get confused. Nylon string Guitars are usually the way you will begin your Guitar journey, as the strings are softer and easier to play. But if you decide to switch to steel strings later on, be aware that you can't just change the strings from nylon to steel – these are actually completely different Guitars. Nylon string guitars are known as ‘classical guitars’, and the neck is wide and flat at the back. A steel string guitar, on the other hand is generally known as an ‘acoustic guitar’ and has a metal reinforcing rod in the neck to support the tension of the steel strings.
If you were to put steel strings on a nylon string guitar, the neck and bridge will pull, bend, and eventually come away from the body of the guitar. Once this has happened, the Guitar is beyond repair.
Go electric with one of our classic Guitars such as the famous Fender Stratocaster or Telecaster, or choose from our many other options including our Electric Guitar Packs, ideal for beginners. If you're going electric you’ll need an amplifier; we stock them too. See our range of Amplifiers.
Picks and strings can be confusing for the beginner too. String sizes are measured in ‘gauges’, a heavier gauge being thicker and producing more tone, volume, and projection. Acoustic Guitars use heavier gauge strings than electric Guitars. For heavier rock music (e.g. Metallica) choose heavier gauge strings, and for lighter music styles (e.g. Taylor Swift) choose lighter gauge strings.
Guitar picks also have different thicknesses. Some also have grip enhancers made of rubber or raised bumps. Some are designed for smaller instruments, some for larger instruments, some for finger picking, and some for fast playing.

Choosing the right size acoustic Guitar for your child
The right size Guitar for your child is based on their size, not on their age. You are welcome to bring your child in and we’ll let them try a few for comfort. If the Guitar is a surprise gift, no problems, let us know how tall they are, and we’ll find something we think will suit. Just keep your receipt in case, and if necessary, we’ll change it for a better fit size.
